Work
Restrictions for International Students
Regulations of the Immigration and Naturalization Service
(INS) allow most international students to work on-campus,
but not off-campus. Also, except for the graduate associate
or fellowship award, you cannot use potential employment at
Ohio State as evidence of your ability to support yourself
when applying for a visa. Holders of F-1 and J-1 visas may
not work more than 20 hours per week while school is in session,
and must maintain a full course load. The Office
of International Affairs will provide more details
on work restrictions as well as opportunities.
